We’re excited to launch our first newsletter — your go-to spot to connect with our mountain communities, share opportunities, and stay informed.
Big Creek Mountain Communities Alliance is a partnership of local grassroots organizations serving as a regional hub for rural development, sustainability, and community engagement in eastern Shasta County.
Our motivation stems from a desire to uplift our communities and foster resilience through education, economic growth, and environmental sustainability. By working together to provide resources and opportunities, we can create resilient communities that are empowered for generations to come.
We believe in the power of rural creativity, collaboration, and shared purpose. We’re here to connect, support, and grow — together.
Thanks to a grant secured by Hill Country Community Clinic in 2024, six anchor organizations — Big Bend Community Center, Big Bend Community Land Trust, Mountain Union Elementary School District, Mountain Community Center, KKRN 88.5 FM Community Radio, and California Heritage YouthBuild Academy (CHYBA) — came together to strengthen their missions and better connect our communities.
Today, the Alliance is a growing network focused on shared priorities: expanding opportunities for youth, improving regional communication, and honoring each mountain community while working together as one.
