Hours: Part-time, approximately 20 hours a week, Monday-Friday 2:00pm to 6:00pm

POSITION SUMMARY: The Youth Center Coordinator works directly with adolescents, ages 12 -18, who are participating in Hill Country’s Youth Programs. Primary job responsibilities are to plan, coordinate, and facilitate enrichment activities and provide resources, opportunities and support to promote healthy development and successful transitions into adult roles. Our staff provide a safe, enjoyable, and welcoming space at our teen center in Round Mountain, with genuine openness and acceptance of all youth. For youth and families experiencing challenges or life stressors, we provide personalized support, aid with problem solving, and link to additional resources when needed.
This is a part-time position, approximately 20 hours a week during after school hours and once a month on weekends for outings or events, plus a few multi-day camping trips in the summer. Hours during summer months are flexible based on program needs and goals.

QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a high level of responsibility and a commitment to helping young people. Strengths must include natural warmth, openness, and authentic caring and compassion for all people. Must be outgoing, creative, fun, and greatly enjoy teenagers, whose personal styles, interests and identities may be very diverse. Must be well organized, able to facilitate teen group activities effectively, manage stressful situations, and multitask. Must be an excellent communicator and able to manage conflicts and behavioral issues. Must be able to maintain calm at all times and have healthy boundaries. Self-initiative, honesty, integrity, emotional intelligence, and self-awareness are essential.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Must have completed some college coursework in psychology or communication related subjects, plus two years related experience working with youth; will consider other exceptional experience that is relevant to this position
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES: Must have current and clean CA driver license. Driving a clinic vehicle will be necessary. Must be able to transport minors. Must be a safe driver with no prior history of DUI or reckless driving. Must pass criminal background check. Within first 90 days must complete Youth Mental Health First Aid, Suicide Prevention and Intervention, CPR. Other trainings will be required in first year.
